There are two versions : the free version and the full version. The RadioRaft software package is the same for the 2 versions. FREE VERSION: The package permits to install the free version that you can use without licence. It is not limited in time. The free version is limited to the following modes: CW Morse, RTTY Baudot, Sitor-A (Tor/arq), ARQ-E, FEC-A, DIGIT. The other modes can be selected or automatically detected, but text will be displayed only in a small window of 9 characters. All other features are the same as the fully registered version. FULL VERSION: From the free version, you can create a RadioRaft diskette that permits to install also the full version. You will need installation codes, password and serial number, provided after the order of the licence (see the file ORDER.TXT). If you order the licence or an update without diskette, you will need to make one yourself. In this case you have to indicate the serial number of your RadioRaft diskette when you order. You obtain this number by creating or verifying a diskette (menu "File/Create a diskette"). Such a diskette is customised. The installation codes that are provided when you order for the licence are relative only to this diskette. UPDATE: If you are registered for any version 2.xx, you may order the full version 3.21 at a particular rate. See the order form. If you are registered for any version 3.xx, you are authorised to update free with any new version 3.xx. You must do it yourself. The new releases are available only on Internet (no update by mail). Download and install. PACKAGE: The RadioRaft software package must contain the following files: RR.EXE Both executable RadioRaft file and installation program. RAFTCIRC.GIF Interface schema, visualisable by an Internet navigator In English: README.TXT This file that you are reading: general view of the program ORDER.TXT Licence/diskette order form RAFTAIDE.TXT Reference documentation of the program, main part. RAFTAIDE.HTM Same in HTML format, readable from your Internet browser. RAFTMODE.TXT Reference documentation of the program, part on modes RAFTMODE.HTM Same in HTML format, readable from your Internet browser. FILE_ID.DIZ Very short presentation of RadioRaft. In French: LISEZMOI.TXT General view of the program. COMMANDE.TXT Licence/diskette order form RAFTAIDF.TXT Reference documentation of the program, main part. RAFTAIDF.HTM Same in HTML format, readable from your Internet browser. RAFTMODF.TXT Reference documentation of the program, part on modes RAFTMODF.HTM Same in HTML format, readable from your Internet browser. You can provide this software package only to the following conditions: 1) Do not give your codes for installation (if you own them) 2) Do provide the copy of the files for FREE. 3) Do provide the WHOLE package without MODIFYING nor adding any files. The most simple way to create a RadioRaft diskette containing all the files is to use the menu: "File/Create a diskette". Such a diskette will permit to install as well the free as the full version, even though you have made it from the free version. THE SALE OF RADIORAFT COPIES IS STRICTLY PROHIBITED. Under WINDOWS 3.1x quit WINDOWS. Under WINDOWS 95 or 98 you need to reboot in MsDOS mode. RadioRaft works properly only from MsDOS. However you can make the installation from WINDOWS. To install the FREE version, you can run RR.EXE from a diskette, a CD-ROM or a hard-disk. To install the FULL version, you must run RR.EXE only from a RadioRaft diskette and you need installation codes. You will obtain the codes by ordering the RadioRaft licence to the author or to an authorized distributor. You can order the diskette at the same time. See chapter III of this file for more details on that point. To run the installation program under MsDOS from a diskette, enter: A:RR indicates the enter key. Follow the 4 installation menus which are very explicit: 1) - select your language (English or French) 2) - choose to install the free or the full version - enter the folder name for the installation (8 characters maximum) 3) - If you install the full version: enter the serial number and your password 4) - select "Modem" if you are using a real demodulator, or "Interface" for the one op-amp interface named also "Hamcomm" interface - select the number of the serial port you are using, and indicate the values for addresses and irq according to your hardware. When the installation ends, the program runs. To restart the program after leaving it, enter from the DOS prompt (C:\>): RADIORAF\RR where RADIORAF is the name of your installation directory. _________________________________________________________________________ VI UPDATES Only main changes are indicated for each version. All occurs as the interface would not be connected. This was a bug already existing in version 2. Try the free version before ordering the full one. _________________________________________________________________________ VIII ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS Many thanks to: - Anton J.
